Blue Butterfly Clerodendrum

I just love this plant!  Maybe I'm partial to it because I love butterflies, but this flowering perennial is just too cute to pass up!  This is a really great plant for a shady or morning sun area.  This plant can get 5-6 ft. high and about 4-5 ft. wide.  Starting in spring, 1 in. blue "butterflies" start to flower in clusters, and last through fall.   This plant is cold sensitive and will freeze back during the winter, but will come back from the roots in spring.  A word of caution:  All parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested.  Dogs typically leave it alone since it has a peppery scent when the leaves are crushed, but small children should be kept away from picking the flowers.
This plant made my day! How 'bout yours?
